Presidente Santos prioriza Vía de La Soberanía

El Presidente de la República, Juan Manuel Santos, afirmó que la Vía de La Soberanía, corredor de 150 kilómetros que conecta a Norte de Santander con Boyacá y Arauca, es estratégica y su construcción es una prioridad para el Gobierno Nacional.

Así lo anunció el Mandatario durante el Consejo de Ministros que tuvo lugar este sábado en Arauca, donde se presentaron los avances del Gobierno para la atención de la crisis por el cierre de la frontera con Venezuela.

“La Vía de La Soberanía es otra forma de dejar de depender de Venezuela. Esta vía tiene que estar en la lista de prioridades de los proyectos de infraestructura. Para comenzar vamos a buscar  200.000 millones de pesos, para que sea una realidad lo más pronto posible. Será la primera cuota para seguir avanzando”, señaló el Presidente Santos.

Por su parte, el Ministro de Transporte (e), Carlos García Montes, explicó que “se ha hecho un trabajo conjunto con el Departamento Nacional de Planeación (DNP), que ha  propuesto aportar los recursos para la segunda etapa del corredor”.

También afirmó que el Ministerio de Transporte se reunirá con Ministerio de Hacienda para avanzar en la pavimentación a través del Instituto Nacional de Vías (Invías).

García Montes aseveró que “por esta vía Arauca comercializa productos agrícolas como la yuca y el cacao. Unas mejores condiciones de transitabilidad permitirán que los araucanos se conecten de manera eficiente con los santanderes hacia donde más transportan sus productos”.

Cabe recordar que en la Vía de La Soberanía, que va desde La Lejía (Norte de Santander) hasta Saravena (Arauca), el Gobierno Nacional ha invertido cerca de 116.000 millones de pesos, con los que se han construido y pavimentado 21,5 kilómetros.

Actualmente se realizan trabajos en el puente sobre el río Loro por 9.300 millones de pesos.
